May's Pet of the Month 2010 - Edwina
'Edwina', is a beautiful adult Sharpshinned Hawk, found unable to fly at a greenbelt
by animal control and was brought to the hospital for medical care. She has been
recovering from a shoulder injury with air sac and lung trauma with oropharyngeal
bleeding in the hospital for the last 6 weeks. She is much improved and is scheduled
for release next week. These birds are strictly bird eaters in the wild. Her favorite
hospital meal is raw chicken wings and necks. She has been a very popular patient
and a joy to care for. We all hope she continues on injury free in the wild.
